Thousands Gather at PEACH for Successful “Building the Thai Future 2020” Road Show

Pattaya, Thailand - The Thai Government’s “Building the Thai Future for 2020” Road Show and Exhibition was successfully held at the award-winning Pattaya Exhibition And Convention Hall from October 15-17, 2013.

PEACH was the chosen venue for this exciting 3-day event which was part of a series of public consultations held by the Thai government in 12 different provinces that aims to keep people updated regarding its relevant plans for the future. The nationwide consultations are meant to increase public awareness with regards to the government’s planned infrastructure development projects that would seek to elevate the livelihood of its people.   It intends to highlight the consequential benefits of products and services development as well as the value of progressive connectivity with neighboring countries through transportation innovation and logistics. The road show provides the perfect platform for the government’s project details to be clarified and for crucial public opinion to be heard regarding such planned advancements.

Mr. Kittiratt Na Ranong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Thailand and Dr. Chatchart Sittipan, Minister of Transport of Thailand co-chaired the opening ceremony.  In attendance were also Chonburi Provincial Administration Organization Chairman, Mr. Wittaya Khunpluem, Chonburi Governor, Mr. Komsan Ekachai and Pattaya Mayor, Mr. Ittipol Khunpluem.

In a keynote speech, Dr. Chatchart Sittipan addressed how the government loan of 2 trillion baht will be used for infrastructure development across the country and how the whole project could help the country become the keystone of mainland South-East Asia.    The centerpiece of the spending plan is a network of high-speed railway lines to connect Thailand’s four main regions with Bangkok.   Participants were made aware of the purpose and benefits of the planned developments that were to happen in the next 7 years.

As the exhibition garnered a lot of public attention in Chonburi and from those living in nearby provinces, thousands of people teemed around the massive halls of PEACH, to either mill around the interesting exhibitions or participate in the various activities available. A mini concert with super stars coming in to join the affair such as “Yardthip” Rachapal, Ron from the AF, “Pancake” Khemanit and Mik-Thongraya made the event such  a memorable success.
