A pioneer of CSR activities in Pattaya and Thailand since 1973, we take great pride in being a model of good corporate citizenship and have been championing environmental conservation through various projects for the betterment of society ever since.
Most notably, the resort opened its own wastewater treatment plant during the early ’70s, long before Pattaya had its own, making it the first resort and convention hall in the world to achieve the ISO 14001:2004 for Environmental Management System, the extension scope of ISO 9001:2008 for Quality Management System and TIS 22300 – 2551 for MICE Security Management Systems. These achievements have established The Royal Cliff Hotels Group as a recognised leader in CSP worldwide.
As further endorsement of our pioneering efforts in environmental conservation, the resort has received numerous awards and recognition, including EIA Monitoring Award (2000, 2002, 2005, 2007-2009, 2011, 2014, 2016 and 2018), Kuoni Green Planet Award (2005-2008) and the Best Green Hotel recognition (2008).
Royal Cliff Hotels Group is committed to doing our part for the betterment of society. Giving back to those less fortunate remains one of our top priorities, especially when it comes to children. We regularly extend contributions in cash and kind, joining hands with various volunteer organisations around Pattaya and Thailand. Our annual assistance includes scholarships for underprivileged children as well as donations to the Pattaya Orphanage and school for blind children.
Our senior management team personally visits various schools and charity centres each year to determine how best to help their causes. Our team brings food, clothes and books to the schools on these visits. In 2009, we hired renowned architects and engineers to renovate the main lobby of the Pattaya School for the Blind. Furthermore, our board of directors undertook the majority of the funding to build Pattaya Hospital and homes for HIV patients in Rayong.
As an endorsement of our pioneering efforts towards environmental conservation, the hotel group has received several awards and recognition, including EIA Monitoring Award (2000, 2002, 2005 and 2007), Kuoni Green Planet Award (2005-6 and 2007-8) and the Best Green Hotel recognition (2008). We have also received the internationally recognised ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Certificate becoming the first Convention Hotel in Thailand to achieve both ISO 9001:2008 (Quality management system) and ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental management system) accreditation. For our meetings and incentives business, we received the TIS 22300-2551 in recognition of our security management system. Another award we are proud of is from the Ministry of Social Development and Human Society, which was presented to us in recognition of an excellent enterprise in the area of employment for persons with disabilities.
Our hotels have always upheld the highest levels of services since 2004. Today, our senior executives have chosen to upgrade our operating standards to the 2008 worldwide criteria currently in effect. This decision was made in order to maintain an outstanding, up-to-date standard of service that would clearly reflect the higher criterias presently used to judge a hotel’s operations and performance.
Our latest achievements include British Standard Institute (BSI), ISO 9001 Quality Management Certification, ISO 14001 Environmental Management Certification, ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Certification, MASCI, TIS: 22300: 2008.
A vital part of the country’s economy, tourism and hospitality is one of Thailand’s leading sources of revenue, with careers in this sector offering many interesting and exciting prospects. As pioneers in this field, education and training have been one of our key initiatives, so we always encourage site visits and tours by universities and colleges. We believe this provides a great opportunity for the future generation to have a first-hand look at how Thailand’s flourishing tourism and hospitality industry operates.
As part of this ongoing endeavour, we have provided more than 600 internships and vocational opportunities to college students in the past year alone. Additionally, we also hold educational fairs to assist students and graduates with choosing the right career path.
Our enthusiasm for CSR often inspires our guests and the community to get involved. We constantly look for innovative ways to offer environmentally sustainable community-building packages and activities that are not only enjoyable for our guests but also beneficial to society.
Royal Cliff Hotels Group is in the process of setting up a Charity Fund that will closely monitor the ongoing distribution of aid and donations to our numerous programs and projects. In order to ensure efficiency and transparency, different benchmarks and measurement metrics will be implemented to verify that funds are being given correctly for the maximum benefit of these selected communities.
